In 2007, SCR was selected and approved to be a United States Pony Club Riding Center in the pilot program across the whole USA. As part of the Southern California Region of USPC, Inc. Pony Club is the leading junior equestrian organizations in the world.
SCRPCRC provides a comprehensive program that includes Qualified Riding Instruction and horse management with an emphasis on TEAM WORK, sportsmanship and safety. It is NOT necessary for a child to own a horse or pony, they can become a member of SCR and participate in the program with an SCR schoolmaster. One of the wonderful things we are able to provide is the ability to offer Each child (or Adult member) to progress at their own pace... If you are strong in Horse Management skills you can complete the Horse Management knowledge track either right away or take your time.
SCRPCRC has a proven track record of seeing many of our members all the way up into & thru the National Levels. We also have had many members be selected for National Championships, International Championships as well as International Exchanges too!
Disciplines Offered at SCRPCRC - We offer a variety of disciplines recognized by USPC, Inc. & have had many members over the years go on to compete & WIN in several of them...
Tetrathlon (Running, Swimming, Shooting & Equestrian Jumping) is always a popular sport here at SCR as well as Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage, Mounted Games, Vaulting, Fox Hunting, Polocrosse and QUIZ (similar to a spelling bee but with all Equine questions).
SCRPCRC is for all Ages - Pony Club Membership is now offered for all ages! We have the ability to offer the USPC program from age 5 all the way up thru "seasoned Adult" that desire to work thru the USPC curriculum.
SCRPCRC is home to the original "Model Horse Rally" (it is here that this rally was founded by Crystal Wylie). We also founded the Stick Horse Rally as well to help kids learn about the different disciplines available in PC.
USPC Pony Clubs and Riding Centers are assigned to one of 41 geographical regions, which are administered by a volunteer Regional Supervisor (RS) and other appointed and elected officers. Regions offer additional activities and opportunities for members and support for the club and center leaders under their administration.
